Who Are We? Collectively we are a quartet of professional string players who've played for some of the top acts in the world including Kygo, The Arkells, and Ed Sheeran. When we're not touring around the globe (especially now) we love to bring our unique string style to private events all over Canada. Not only are we committed to changing the face of classical music but we're also educators and operate an equity first school for strings based in Toronto and PEC.
What Do We Do? Bowed Arts specializes in bringing modern music to stringed instruments. Our customizable Quartet, Trio, and Duo ensembles add a magical element to any Wedding, Party or Cocktail reception. We can custom arrange your favourite songs to make your event as unique as you are. Yes, we can play November Rain as you walk down the aisle or confuse your guests with Hedwig's Theme as you sign your marriage license. Really, we've done it.
How Do We Do It? We love to work collaboratively with our clients to make each and every event personalized. We love trying new music and playing songs that have no business being played on Violins, Violas and Cellos and making it our business. We often add vocals to our groups as well. We love playing acoustically but can also come prepared for amplification. We like playing outside when it's warm and sunny and we absolutely love playing indoors when it's cold or rainy. Figuring out which works best for your event is part of our planning and consultation process.
So, How Much Is This? Our packages are priced below. All of our packages include one custom request song and access to our extensive library of repertoire. All prices are for events within the GTA and do not include additional sound or PA. We are happy to discuss additional customization over the phone.
